Most players with a tennis rating of 6.0 or above have sectional or national ratings. 6.5 Tennis Rating. A tennis rating of 6.5 means the person has experience has extensive satellite tournament play and good potential of becoming a 7.0. 7.0 Tennis Rating. A tennis rating of a 7.0 indicates the player plays professionally at tournament and makes a living from tournament prize money.

A player’s rating is initially set based on their ITTL salary. A player signed for $28,324,000 starts at a rating of 2850; a player signed for $4,444,444 starts at a rating of 450. Whenever a player plays an official League match, rating points are gained or lost depending on the result (win/lose). The amount of points gained or lost, however, depends very much on the competition level as well.
NTRP PLAYER RATING SCALE. 1.0 This player is just starting to play tennis. 1.5 This player has limited playing experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball into play. 2.0 This player needs on-court experience.
